After reading the article on Fox Sports; msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5651570 , I cannot wait to see him pitch again. I last saw him in the World Baseball Classic versus South Africa, granted it was not much of a challenge for him, it was his control of the game that amazes me. At 43 he is better than 99% of the pitchers out there right now. I have to give 1% percent because someone always comes up hot. It will be interesting to see if he can bring the Astro back to the series again. They are going to need some more help than just Clemens, but you have to wonder how much more he has in him.

Re: Clemens returns
Fri, June 2, 2006 - 1:13 PMwell if he plays half a season 81 games for $22,000,000 and he makes a start every 5 games he will start in 16.2 games and if in those games he throws an average of 100 pitches he will be paid...
...$1,358,024 and 60 cents a game which works out to $13,580 and 24 cents a pitch -

Re: Clemens returns
Sat, June 3, 2006 - 4:46 PMI do not know about being juiced, if you look at his career he has been pretty consistent, www.baseball-reference.com/c/clemero02.shtml . Unlike former players like McGwire, Canseco, etc.. who got sickly looking (frail, old, thinner, less muscular) after the stopped playing Clemens put on the pounds. The interview on ESPN he looks ten to twenty pounds over what he weighed last year. He is one of those players that you love to hate. If you want to say that he is old look at Satchel Paige who pitched until he was 46 years old (also pitched a perfect three innings when he was 58) and Nolan Ryan who also hung it up at 46. -

Re: Clemens returns
Sat, June 3, 2006 - 7:15 PMhe is built for durability. I think there are plenty of others with a mountain of evidence against them. If you look deeply into those guys it should flush out others if the rocket is amongst them then so be it. But as of yet I am aware of no evidence to support a theory against Clemens -

Re: Clemens returns
Sun, June 4, 2006 - 7:45 AMExcept for that he is bigger and stronger in his 40s than he was before. It could be natural, but he has the thick-necked brawn that is often associated with steroids. And he's such a dick, I don't mind accusing him spuriously. :)
You would really want him back on the Sox? After how badly he maligned that team and its fans? I think I'd rather lose.
