pinch running ( I know, I'm thinking of BATTER reaching first, but the question was posed as PLAYER).
then the bogus description below, which I believe is a cop out and should just fall under pinch running. (but it's not my quiz)
9 ways for a baseball player to get on first base without getting a hit… pinch running counts.
One of the ways is if “player X” is on first base, then the game is suspended and re-scheduled at a date when “player X” is no longer with the team, thus “player Y” will run for him. To me… that is pinch running. And thus the list should be 8 reasons
