kirby puckett suffers stroke

MINNEAPOLIS - Former Minnesota Twins great Kirby Puckett suffered a stroke Sunday morning and was undergoing surgery.

Twins announcer John Gordon said on WCCO Radio that Puckett was having surgery at a Scottsdale, Arizona, hospital.

The 44-year-old Puckett led Minnesota to two World Series championships and is a member of the Hall of Fame.

    That's way too bad. I'm four years older than him and this makes me very nervous. I hope he gets better and recovers fully.

      44 years old and suffering from a stroke? If the cause of this isnt linked to a diseas like diabetes, high cholesteral or hyper tension that are known to cause strokes and it turns out that its something like an embolism or microangeplasty which is linked to anabolic steroids and strokes. I have to wonder what this will do to the steroids debate.

      I wish the best of luck and smooth recovery for mr puckett regardless of the cause of this stroke. I just find myself wondering how long it will take before this comes up
